[The video feed clicks on, and oh hey it's the student kitchens in the background. There's two big pots on the stove and a really big rice cooker over there on the counter and oh hello there's a Bulba in the feed now. He's given up on the effort of trying not to seem really tired, and he seems pretty distracted on top of that.]

In case you were wondering um... Kirby had to go back to Dreamland for a while. Something came up...

[He frowns, looking like he really doesn't want to talk about it and makes a motion towards the stove with his head to switch the subject.]

Oh, uh, if anyone's hungry or whatever, I made some curry and... kind of made too much out of habit... There's both spicy and mild so. People are welcome to it so it doesn't go to waste. It's down here in the student kitchens.

Uh... that's it. Thanks.

[And then the feed cuts off.]

[Oh dear sweet roommate, how cruelly life treats you so. Don't think he hasn't noticed the extra level of MOPE in your life. It's so saddening. So awful! If only he could have had a hand in this.

[WILLICKERS it's a ~~bat~~ cat. Man. Thing. Roommate.

Here's a surprised glance in the doorway's direction.]

Huh? Oh, yeah... They're ok.

[NO THEY'RE NOT.]

Are you hungry at all?

Not for food. [He enters the kitchens.] I just wanted to check up on my roommate, I know things have been challenging lately.

[Sniff sniff] I must ask though, where did you learn to cook? It smells divine~.

[Oh Seth you were all sorts of awkward sometimes. Bulba placed some dirty dishes from Food Guest #Something in the sink, looking a bit more flustered than he had been a few moments ago.]

Oh um... Thanks. I took the culinary arts class twice, and Bob gives me some tips sometimes when I work at the cafe. Green's sister got me started though!

[The almighty Arceus fancied herself a chef? How curious.]

It's a wonderful talent. [Now, the important question.] Do you like cooking just for yourself or do you like cooking for others? [He came in a little closer, eyeballing the leftovers and plethora of dirty dishes. Likely the latter, and clearly he had been busy all day.]

Mmm, usually for others. I'm usually not very hungry, myself. Most of my meals are sunshine.

[If Seth didn't want any food than Bulba was just going to help himself to running some water in the sink to work on those dishes. Come here, dish soap.]

So I usually make too much even if it's a normal amount of food.

[But can you walk on sunshine.]

That makes sense, but that's a shame. There's a lot you could do with that. [He is going to sidle up next to you and kind of sort of help with dishes, as long as he is not touching dirty ones.]

Have you ever thought about starting up a business of sorts? [LET HIM. BE YOUR ADVISER. BULBA.]

[Oh hello there Seth. If you do not want to touch the dirty dishes perhaps you could dry. There is a towel right over there.]

[Blink blink.] Huh? A business...? [There is genuine surprise and curiosity going on here.] No, I can't say I have.

[Yes that is acceptable, but ugh this towel is probably filthy. He helps but very gingerly. But he is helping! Look how helpful he is.]

You. Are a natural at this, and I see some excellent potential to make some money on the side while having a little fun doing something you're already so good at... and judging by all these dishes, something a lot of other people like too.

Is there anything you'd want to buy if you had a little extra in your pocket? Anything at all?

[Awww so helpful.

But what is this stream of compliments and musings what. Now he's even more flustered.]

Uhh... ~~A new boyfriends.~~ I'd have to think about that, actually.

But I don't think I'm really good enough to go about doing anything that extravagant with it though. There's still a lot I have to learn.

Don't be so modest. We could start out small and see where it goes from there. Cookies and curry and other snacks... you know how to do that, right?

Well, yeah, I can do that, but... It'd be weird to start charging for stuff I usually just let people have.

[Oh, sweet, naive little Bulba.] Think of it like a self-sustaining self-investment.

You know lots of things aren't free in life... the food you like to cook with had to come somewhere and someone had to pay for it. Even if you wanted to give it away as a gift to someone far away because you are such a kind and generous individual, you'd still have to pay for shipping expenses.

Your friend that had to go back to... what was that place, Dreamland? Is that far away? Wouldn't you like to be able to send him things?

[He knew that much at least. Most of his cafe paychecks actually ended up in groceries when he was feeding a black hole. But now that said black hole was missing.

And also being mentioned. That kind of hit where it hurt.]

... Yeah I think it's pretty far. I haven't actually been there. [Bulba you didn't have to rinse that plate for quite that long.]

It'd be nice to send him some things, yeah.

[Right where it hurt and that is where he'll subtly switch the conversation to.]

Is he alright?

He's fine. Just had some things to take care of.
