In-Character Information
Name : Ivysaur (Bulba)
Game/Series: Pokemon
Canon Point: Man I don't even. SBG canon.
Age & Grade Level: 14, Junior.

Personality:
As a Bulbasaur, Bulba entered the school with fresh anticipations. Everything was Super Okay in his world. He was openly curious about a lot of things, easily impressed, a little shy… but he was confident, and he was ready for some learning. More than that, he was as fiercely loyal as a Bulbasaur could possibly be.

The school brought about changes. He began to become more cautious about leaping into things. Bulba had always been the type to look before he leapt, but it became even more prevalent here. The school is nuts and crazy stuff keeps happening to everyone, so someone needed to keep an extra eye on everyone, especially with his team. So much to the probable chagrin of his team mates, Bulba became a doting mother hen. His intentions had always been for the best, but he was probably just sort of a nuisance… and he knew it. Or at least, he came to perceive that. Bulba had always had some insecurity issues about things, and events that happened at the school have only managed to amplify them.

As an Ivysaur, more things have started to change. While a pokemon remains essentially the same pokemon they were before at their core, they undoubtedly have some emotional shifts after their evolution.

Some things are the same. Overall, Bulba's a happy sort of dude. He's relatively easy to please, and it doesn't take him too horribly long to bounce back from most (most) things. It's in his nature. And if he's not happy? Well he'll try damn hard to make it seem like he's happy anyway. He hates to worry people, and will ultimately keep things bottled up instead of letting them out. They have enough problems of their own, they don't need to worry about his too. Being surrounded by a bunch of guys that think that being sad and the like is a form of weakness certainly never helped either. So it's hard to tell what he's thinking sometimes.

His loyalty remains untouched. Its burning as brightly now as it ever did. Green is Bulba's everything, and nothing will ever change that. Love and friends will come and join the fray, but ultimately his pledges lie with his trainer. He'd follow him to the end of everything. If Green said it was time to leave, Bulba would drop everything at the first notice without a single thought. It absolutely tears him up inside that he isn't with Green right now, but the trainer told him to wait. So he will, for however long it takes. Bulba would forgive Green in an instant for anything he might have done wrong. He's faithful to the point where it is utterly ridiculous and stupid.

That loyalty extends beyond his trainer, though. Bulba is fiercely attached to his team. They're his family, and he'd probably do mostly anything for them. Mostly. Does that include hike across the country to beat up their previous teammates? Well.. yes. Yes it does. If his team is happy, he's happy. If they're upset… well then he's going to be upset too.

He's also still a worry wort, but he's been reaching some sort of acceptance on this. He wants what's best for his team, but he knows that his team happens to consist of independent douches (though he loves them). They're going to get in trouble if they want to. They're going to do stuff he doesn't like… and Bulba's starting to become okay with this. He's becoming less reserved and a little more open to these sorts of things. He's more likely to be able to talked into participating a little himself.

That's mostly because the Ivysaur stage is more or less the awkward, rebellious teenager sort of phase. They are more aggressive in nature, and it peeks through. Bulba's temper is a little easier to mess with, and he has a lot of pent up frustration that he just isn't sure what to do with. The evolution has provided some sort of relief, but it's all still very touch and go. He's much more likely to throw a punch now than he ever would have been as a Bulbasaur. All that time with Char being his main role model might have finally started to rub off on him.

So in the long run he's still the Bulba that everybody knows at heart. Those good grades are still his. His desire to grow stronger for those he cares about is still a constant that that lingers in most of his thoughts. He's just easier to agitate and more forgiving of slightly unsavory behavior. (Sort of.) He is still probably the member of Green Team with the best set of general morales. (Probably.)

Backstory:
[Bits RE: lil' kid Green are subject to and open to change based on any future Green.]

Once upon a time ago in Pallet Town, an egg was delivered to one [1] Professor Oak's lab. Oh goody oh goody it was one of his new pokemon. Usually they came hatched though… No matter, that's what children with able legs were for, and he just so happened to conveniently have a grandson with able legs. (No crippled hunks here.) Green was given the task of running around outside for hours until it hatched, which was done so. Very grudgingly. There was a lot of grudge and going "Graaaaamps >:[" amongst other whiny complaints. And then it hatched into one [1] Bulbasaur and all of his complaints when flying out the window. ~*~Destiny~*~ Bribes and other such offers were made to the old man, and Oak conceded. Green could have the pokemon… but only after he was old enough for his license. Everything was awesome in Green's world!

They just forgot to ever mention it to the Bulbasaur.

He stayed in the Professor's lab in the meantime. Time went on, and as the little Bulbasaur grew up it became obvious to him that something was not quite right. All of his companions were getting picked by the new trainers that were coming in, but he was always the one left behind. Was there something wrong with him? Was it because he looked funny? The answer was yes, because this was RBG and people didn't know what the hell a shiny was. What the hell, it was diseased. He didn't know that Green was probably outside kicking 10-year-olds in the shins, he just knew that he wasn't getting picked and that was… not good. He spent a lot of time trying to show that he was just as good as all those other ones! Better in fact! They just.. they just had to pick him too.

Then the fateful day came when he finally did get picked. By the boy that would come and play with him, no less! Oh it was the happiest day. He was going to be the very best for him, he swore it. There wasn't any room for disappointment there. Bulba was going to make super certain that Green never once regretted his choice ever. They were on their grand adventure! They were inseparable! These were truly beautiful moments!

And then Bulba had to share with a bird. And then a grouchy lizard. Who was grouchy. And moody. And punted him. And tried to set him on fire. He sort of understood but… Bulba didn't think that was altogether very fair, but Green seemed to like him so… it was time to put up with him. Really he just wanted to keep Green to himself but he knew that wasn't really possible in a realistic situation. Woes and alack. They got a giant turtle! He was a lot cooler than the grouchy lizard because he wasn't trying to punt Bulba for saying hi. That was cool.

Together they felt like a team. It was awesome. They were great. They… made Bulbasaur start to question himself. Was he doing enough? Was he actually being helpful? Char and Blastoise were leagues ahead of him. How did a Bulbasaur compare against a second and final level? He knew he was strong, but was he enough? Fears and whispers of disappointment crept up on him, and once they grabbed hold they were hard to shake away. Bulba had faith in Green. He knew he wouldn't keep around someone that couldn't keep up. …Admittedly that was why he was afraid. But all he could do was keep his head up and keep striding forward, so that's exactly what he did.

They were a very ragtag group, but they were the best ragtag group. Those badges were all theirs. Victory Road? Totally theirs. The Elite Four? No. Problem. They were champions. They had done it. Bulba was so very proud of him, and so very happy. Their story was far from over though.

Next were the chapters that everyone else know so well. Green Team came to Smash Academy, knowing full well that it too would be theirs. Bulbasaur happily followed along. It was an intriguing place, and it set the stage for things that he never would have anticipated. Being a people, going to classes, keeping grades up… Char got a girlfriend (what), the girlfriend got on the team (a girl on the team what), Bulba made friends… Green came and went, leaving Bulba behind each time. That was… hard to stomach. Life went on. Green became a gym leader and Bulba was so proud of him. Wars happened, nightmares happened… He got closer to Char. Shadows and zombies and emo runaways and heartswaps and discovering sexual identities, oh my.

Green graduated and moved on for more adventures without him. Bulba watched Char evolve and couldn't stop him from a rampage.

Just because he was a dinky little Bulbasaur. He'd never felt so frustrated in his life.

Those awkward teenage years were just awesome, weren't they?

Anything Else?:
- Jolly nature.
- Moveset: Skull Bash, Solar Beam, Energy Ball, Razor Leaf
- Yes his name is Bulba. Green was 10 shut up.
- He's like. Level one billion. Look forward to a Venusaur app in a week.
- Yeaaah he's still shiny. It's easier to tell now GOLDEN YELLOW EVERYWHERE.
- Yeah he's jumping from the beginning of puberty to like, smack dab in the middle of it there are no helpful transitions here. "Oh god my voice oh god there is hair everywhere oh god I need to make out with something."
- He is now the not-so proud owner of the silkiest girly hair and the prettiest girly eyelashes.
- He still enjoys baking. Daisy taught him way back when so many moons ago.
- Bulba had already been going through a little growth spurt as a Bulbasaur as he got closer to evolution. Finally evolving has boosted him a little more, to a nice 5'6" as a person. As a pogle he now stands at 3'4".
- He has some weird desire to eat Doritos.
- Still pretty gay.
- Still workin' on getting those A's in everything someone has to do it.
- He can still use his vines and leaves as a dude. He's been practicing with them a lot. Bulba wears a lot of loose clothing because of them.
-Less streaking.
-Goodbye verbal tics.

In-Character 1st person writing sample (journal):
Okay so. Uh. If you see a pokemon with a big yellow flower on their back? An Ivysaur? That's… er… nobody new.

That's just me. Er. And that guy with the ponytail? With the spots that are sorta like mine? Yeah, that's just me too.

… These leaves keep hitting me in the back of the head. It's really distracting.

In-Character 3rd person writing post:
This was going to take some time to get used to. There hadn't really been much to get used to with his bulb. It had always just been there. This was different. The weight of this flower had a significant presence. He was completely aware that it was there. The branching leaves brushed against him with his every movement. It was really kind of disorienting.

He tried to sit up once, but that didn't work out for more than a few seconds. That flower was just too blasted heavy to sit that way anymore. He supposed that was alright. The additional height he would have gotten from that previously he got now in the form of a growth spurt, so he wasn't missing too much.

But oh gosh those leaves. Bulba tried to turn his head to nip at one. Just barely missed. He reached a little farther… Soon he was following it around and around like a puppy after his own tail. Sadly he did not quite have as mobile of a neck as a puppy, so that leaf always stayed just out of his grasp. The freshly evolved Ivysaur snorted and plopped down on the ground.

This was going to take some getting used to.
