As long as the trainer is nearby, everything will be okay somehow. As distraught as Bulba might have been that it took so long for someone to choose him, it would have been worse if it had been anyone but Green. He was the one that he had wanted since day one. He hatched him. He picked him. Through thick and thin, Bulba would do anything for him. Everything he has done has been for Green, directly or not. He was excited over more pokemon, so Bulba did his best to get along with them even he was jealous or they were jerks. Bulba got stronger to protect him. He got stronger to bring him to his goals. He tried to be constant so that Green would never have to feel alone. Even if Green was pissing on the world, there'd always be someone that loved him no matter what… even if the feeling ended up one sided. Since coming to the school, Bulba has started to think about doing some things more for himself. Green is always at the forefront of his thoughts, but… Things like wanting to go to the Garden or wanting to be with Kirby… There's a part of him that's convinced that this is some sort of betrayal on his part. He's not sure what to do with it, and its nothing he'd want to bring up with Green. It's unforgivable enough that he ever had his doubts about Green in the first place, and he's kind of beating himself up over it where he thinks no one can see. … At the same time, he's never been more grateful to him. As many doubts and worries that Bulba might have collected, all it takes is a few simple words from Green to make things alright. He wants to be someone for Green to be able to lean on, but so often it ends up the other way around. It's a blind love. Even if Green told him to go, inevitably Bulba would never be too far behind him.
Char blazinglizard ✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿	… But if he didn't have Green, a Char would be fine too. That certainly wasn't always the case. As often as Bulba tried to get along with the lizard, he often had his attempts blow up in his face. Sometimes that was a bit more literal than others. Char was a big fat jerk, and unlike Green he… wasn't Green. Bulba was a lot less inclined to forgive his slights as easily as he could for his trainer. So for a while, Bulba shared the mentality that Char was a big bully. It made it easier to deal with the fact that maybe Char just didn't like him. As they got older, things changed. While they were at the school, Char was suddenly something familiar he could hold on to. When Green left, it was Char that remained. When things went wrong, it was Char that was by his side. Somehow, someway, that comforting flame in the dark had become something that Bulba didn't want to let go. It doesn't really matter when it started happening anymore, as Bulba is pretty aware of just how much he cares for him. He wants to be there for Char as much as Char has been there for him, whether he realizes he has been or not. He looks up to Char a lot more than Char realizes, and just wants to be something that isn't an annoying, nagging Ivysaur around his heels. Despite all the nasty words and the scars and the tears and everything else between them… Char's his brother, and there's very little the dragon (or anyone else) can do or say at this point that would convince Bulba otherwise.
